Our Single Origin Ethiopia honors the Ethiopian Highlands with this label. The southern part of the Ethiopian Highlands is where the medieval Kingdom of Kaffa was. It was in this fertile area that is considered the birthplace of coffee. Ethiopia began the trade of coffee to Arabia and has remained one of the leading exporters to the world market since the 15th Century. Ethiopian coffee is generally still farmed in small "garden coffees" using many traditional techniques. This specific coffee is termed "Ethiopia Natural" due to the traditional methods used for drying and removing the beans from the cherries. In this organically grown coffee, we note a tasting profile that can be described by: Bright Acidity, Creamy Body, Sweet Molasses, Cardamom, and Floral notes. If you like dark, rich coffee - this is not for you.
